"THE HAND IS THE PERFECT INSTRUMENT, THE GLOVE IS THE PERFECT HAND."
"TO MY FELLOW GLOVEHEADS"
Even after 40 years of dedication to making gloves as a glovesmith, it is still not easy to answer the question: "What is the most important thing when it comes to glove patterns?"
The baseball glove has evolved over time due to the changing demands of the game, but those demands have always been made by the players. As modern players are not only more talented, faster, and stronger but also smarter, there are many different and sensitive requirements that made it difficult to find a simple answer to this question.
COMFORTABLY DURABLE
This glove is entirely handcrafted, using 100% hand-oriented patterns. It is built with the finest quality materials and the highest level of craftsmanship, supported by extensive ergonomic/kinesthetic research done in-house.
GLOVE LEATHER & TANNERY
Texas Steerhide: Processed by the Seto Tannery in Hyōgo-ken, Japan, known for the best baseball glove leather tannery in the world. The tanning process includes double vacuum drying of hides, which increases the density of the leather, resulting in a tight, smooth grain texture with ultra-durability.
USA Steerhide: Buckler selects pro-stock leather from the top 5% of available Premium USA Steerhide, which is then processed by the world-famous Nakasaki Tannery with a focus on less weight and smooth texture. These models are for high-level players who need the best performance when it comes to transitions and exchanges during play.
Java Steerhide: Premium Steerhide from the island of Indonesia; Java Island, lying between Sumatra and Bali, has a tropical climate with hot and humid weather all year round. Due to this, leather in the region is denser, smaller, and more consistent than cattle raised in different regions, thus producing thinner, lighter, and more rigid leather - perfect for the baseball glove.
Kip Leather: To ensure the best results, Java kip leather is produced from young calves that are 6 months or younger. Java kip is also widely used to manufacture shoes by the top luxury brands.
